What happened

Atico Mining reported third-quarter production of about 2.08 million pounds of copper and 2,472 ounces of gold contained in concentrates from El Roble, Colombia. Its October 22 release puts copper output 7% below the comparable 2025 quarter and gold output 30% higher. [1]

Why it matters

The two metals moved in different directions, so a single headline does not describe the operating quarter. The company’s table reports 52,494 tonnes processed, down from 61,392 a year earlier. Contained metal in concentrate is also distinct from payable metal, shipments and recognized revenue. [1]

The key number

2.08 million pounds refers to copper contained in concentrates, not copper sales or a resource estimate. Atico describes the production results as preliminary, awaiting independent laboratory verification and subject to final settlement adjustments. [1]

What to watch

Management anticipates better grades next quarter and is advancing a reserves-report update. Those are forward-looking expectations. Watch the subsequent operating release and updated technical disclosure before treating either expectation as an achieved result. [1]
