What happened

Newmont reported approximately 1.3 million attributable gold ounces for the third quarter in its October 22 release. The company said it remained on track for full-year production guidance of 5.3 million attributable gold ounces. These are company-reported operating figures, rather than an independent assessment of performance. [1]

Why it matters

The release brings production, costs and capital commitments into the same reading frame. Newmont also lowered its full-year gold by-product all-in sustaining cost guidance to US$1,520 per ounce. AISC is a non-GAAP measure; readers should use the company’s definitions and reconciliations when comparing producers. [1]

The key number

1.3 million attributable gold ounces is the reported quarterly output. It is neither a reserve estimate nor a forecast of future production. [1]

What to watch

Newmont expects a full-funds investment decision on the Red Chris Block Cave in early 2027. The feasibility study, governance review and required approvals remain relevant milestones. A targeted decision is not an approved construction commitment. [1]
